1. About these terms
Teztopia is a shared 3D town for Tezos art, run by its founder (“we”, “the host”). By entering the town, building, publishing, renting a plot or connecting an AI agent, you accept these terms and the house rules, which are part of them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.
You must be old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live, and at least 18 to rent a plot or pay for extra storage. You are responsible for whether using a Tezos wallet and paying in tez is lawful for you.
2. Your wallet
- Your Tezos wallet is your identity here. Signing in is a message you approve; it spends no tez.
- You alone control your wallet and its keys. We never ask for your seed phrase, private key or password, and we cannot recover a lost wallet, reverse an operation you approved, or move tokens on your behalf.
- Anything done with your wallet's signature on this site is treated as done by you.
- If your wallet uses a sign-in account (for example Google or email), protecting that account is part of protecting your wallet.
3. Land: rented, a renewable tenure, not ownership
A plot is rented, three months at a time: a renewable tenure, the right to build and show your work on one numbered place in the town, for a paid term. It is not ownership of land, of the town, of the software or of any share in the project, and there is no token or contract behind it. The register of who holds which plot is kept by the island.
The streets, squares, the park, the beach, the promenade and every other common place are never for rent. Renting a plot gives you the right to build and publish on it, with or without an invitation, within the plot's size and storage allowance and the house rules. The rental belongs to the wallet that paid for it; it passes to another wallet only through “Pass on your rental” (section 4). The plots facing the Palazzo are reserved by the host and are not for rent; the host can reserve other plots, give plots as gifts and assign plots directly.
Your plot stays as you rented it. A rented plot's position and size do not change until its paid term ends. Changes to the town's layout apply only to plots that are not rented, or to a rented plot from its next term, after notice to its tenant.
4. Prices, terms, renewal and grace
Prices are fixed in tez, by the plot's size and its zone: the sea front and the plots around the Palazzo delle Arti cost more, the countryside less. The first rent is a round number and covers the first three-month term; when it ends you renew one term at a time, for about a fifth of the price. A second plot costs twice as much, to rent and to renew, and a third four times as much; one wallet holds at most three, and at most two that touch each other.
- A term lasts three calendar months. You can renew before it ends, up to a year beyond the running term; a renewal always starts where your paid term ends.
- A renewal is charged at the price in force when you renew; the payment box shows it before you pay. The price table can change for future rentals and renewals, never for a term you have already paid. If you want certainty, you can pay up to a year ahead at today's price (see “1 year” below).
- The payment box shows the exact total before your wallet opens, and that price is held for 20 minutes. A payment that does not match the total shown, or for a plot that someone else's verified payment took first, is not applied (see section 5).
- Before a term ends the town reminds you: 30, 7 and 1 day before, when the grace starts, and 30, 7 and 1 day before the plot would return to the town. You can also turn on reminders on your own devices in My plots. Reminders are a courtesy: keeping your plot renewed is your responsibility, and a reminder that does not arrive (a device switched off, blocked notifications, not visiting the town) does not extend a term or the grace period. The dates are always shown in My plots.
- When you rent or renew you can choose 1 year: four terms for the price of three. When the first rent covers the first term, it counts as one of the three. A year cannot be added when the plot is already paid more than one term ahead.
- If a term ends without renewal, you keep the plot for a grace period of 60 days, during which you can still renew. During the grace your plot and what is published on it stay as they are. After that the rental ends: the plot returns to the town and is offered again, and your rights to build and publish there, its extra storage and any offer to pass it on end with it.
- Extra storage is paid in add-ons of 25 MB, 5 tez per add-on per three-month term, up to 150 MB in all on a 16 m plot and 300 MB on larger plots. It is paid until the plot's term ends, renews with it and goes with the plot when its rental is passed on. If it lapses, the plot falls back to its base allowance: nothing is deleted, but a new version must fit. The island can refuse new storage when its own ceiling is reached.
- Passing on a rental: after you have rented a plot for 90 days, and only while the plot has a published build (a version of this plot that you published as its current tenant and have not withdrawn), you may offer the rest of your rental at a price you choose. The new tenant pays in one operation: 95 % to you and a 5 % transfer fee to the treasury. The new tenant takes over the rest of your paid term and the same obligations, and starts their own 90 days before passing it on. If the build is withdrawn, the rental cannot be passed on until you publish again.
- The drop and gifts: the drop's plots are given by the host for their first term, and gifted plots are claimed at 0 tez with their first term paid. After that they renew like any other plot of their zone. A gift can be revoked until it is used.
- Your work is kept. Losing a plot never deletes what you made: your published gallery is taken off the map, but its files are kept. You can export your drafts at any time, and the host can send you a copy of your published gallery.
5. Payments in tez are final
Your wallet pays the island's treasury directly, in one operation that you approve. The island reads that operation back from the Tezos chain before recording your plot. Network fees are paid by your wallet.
Payments are final. If a payment cannot be applied (for example, someone else's payment for the same plot was verified first, the amount was wrong, or the price changed while your wallet was open), nothing is recorded and the host returns the tez by hand. The island never sends refunds automatically. Apart from such manual corrections, the closure of the mainland (section 12) and where the law requires it, there are no refunds, including when a plot lapses, is taken back for breaking these terms, or when the site changes.
Tez sent by hand, to a wrong address or on the wrong network, or anywhere other than through the site's own payment buttons (Rent, Renew, Take over), are not a payment for a plot, and we cannot reverse or recover them.
6. Not an investment
A plot is a place to build, not a financial product. We make no promise of profit, value, transfer or demand. Do not rent one expecting a return: terms must be renewed, passing on a rental is slowed down on purpose and allowed only for built plots, the town's layout can change for plots that are not rented, and the price of tez moves. Nothing on this site is financial, legal or tax advice.
7. Buying art
The Buy button on an artwork uses objkt's marketplace contract: the purchase is between you and the seller, at the listed price, with royalties and objkt's fee as objkt sets them. We are not the seller, take no commission on artworks, and cannot reverse, refund or guarantee a purchase. Check the work, the artist and the listing before you approve.
8. Your content and the licence you give us
- You are responsible for everything you build, upload, hang, write or link on the site: your plot, models, images, gallery sign, portals, chat and anything an agent builds for you.
- You promise that you have the right to publish it, and that it does not break the law, the house rules or anyone else's rights (copyright, trademark, privacy, image).
- You keep every right you have in your work. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, resize and re-encode (for example, the WebP images and the display copies made at publish), display and transmit it to visitors, and to show it in the town's maps, the home page and the gazette and in posts that present the site, for as long as it is published and for a reasonable time after, plus backups and copies already made.
- Published content can be seen, downloaded and screenshotted by any visitor's browser. Do not publish anything you want to keep private.
9. NFTs and their metadata
When you hang an NFT, the site records the token reference (contract and id) and shows the token's current public metadata, read from objkt, TzKT and IPFS. We do not verify authorship, ownership of rights, or the accuracy of any metadata, and showing a token is not an endorsement. If the metadata or the files behind it change or disappear, what the town shows changes with them. Display copies made at publish are lighter versions for viewing, not the original work. Tokens stay in your wallet; the site never holds them.
10. AI agents
You may connect an AI agent (ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, Cursor or others) to build drafts of your plot. An agent cannot publish, sign or spend tez: you review its draft and publish it yourself, and you are responsible for what you publish. The agent's provider has its own terms and may process what you send it. You can disconnect an agent at any time from your account.
11. Conduct and moderation
The house rules apply everywhere on the site. The host may pause chat, remove a message, mute a person in chat, remove a person from a room, ban a nickname, hide a gallery sign, an artwork, a gallery world or a plot's publication, take a published plot off the map, suspend a wallet for a time or until lifted, or take back a plot, without notice when the matter is urgent (illegal content, scams, harassment). Every moderation action is recorded with who took it, when and why. Moderation decides what this site shows; it never touches tokens on the chain.
Any signed-in wallet, invited or not, can report a plot, a gallery, a gallery sign, an artwork, a chat message, a person, a published space, an audio space or a live screen. To appeal a decision, use the contact and appeal form.
12. Suspension and termination
- We may suspend or end your access, your right to build, or your plot if you break these terms or the house rules, if the law requires it, or to protect visitors or the site. A plot taken back for a breach is not refunded.
- You can stop using the site at any time: disconnect your wallet, let your plot lapse, or ask the host to remove your published work.
- We may change, pause or close the site or parts of it. If the mainland closes for good, we give at least 30 days' notice on the site, and every whole paid term not yet used (renewals already paid included) is refunded in tez to the wallet that paid it.
13. Third parties
The site depends on services we do not control, each with its own terms and privacy policy:
- Tezos and its network, where payments and tokens live;
- wallets such as Kukai and Temple, and the Beacon connection they use;
- exchanges and payment providers you use to get tez (for example MoonPay through Kukai), with their own fees, identity checks and terms;
- objkt (listings, purchases, metadata and media) and TzKT (chain data and names);
- IPFS gateways (such as ipfs.io and dweb.link) for artwork files, and Tezos Domains for names;
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site, its database, files and live rooms;
- Google Fonts, from which pages load their typefaces;
- the AI providers you choose to connect, and sites that portals and signs link to.
We are not responsible for their availability, their content, or what they do with your data. A link out of Teztopia always warns you first.
14. Availability and no warranties
Teztopia is young, built and run by a small team on free hosting plans, and offered as is and as available. It may be slow, full (the town holds 50 people at once), interrupted, changed or lose data. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a purpose, accuracy and uninterrupted service. Keep your own copies of your work.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data, the value of tez or tokens, or losses caused by wallets, the Tezos network, objkt, IPFS, Cloudflare or other third parties. Our total liability to you for anything related to the site is limited to the tez you paid us for plots and storage in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
16. Privacy
What the site stores
- Your wallet address, with what you do that needs it: invitations, plots and their terms, payments, publications, gallery worlds, your gallery sign, agent drafts and connections. Payments and tokens are also public on the Tezos chain, where nobody can delete them.
- Your nickname, which others in the room see with your wallet address while you are there.
-
Sign-in cookies:
thirdlife-session(lasts 8 hours) andthirdlife-login(5 minutes, during sign-in), both HttpOnly and limited to the site's API. We store only a hash of the session. - Chat: the town's live chat is passed on to the people present. The room keeps the last 15 minutes of lines, with who wrote them, only so that a report can be checked against what was really said; then they are deleted. In published creator spaces using the fallback connection, the last 60 messages of a room are kept for at most 5 minutes.
- Reports record what was reported, the reason, your note, where you stood and, for a chat message, its text and author. Your wallet is recorded to limit abuse and is never shown to the person reported. A handled report is deleted after 180 days, and a chat message's text in it after 30.
- Network addresses are not stored. Request limits (agent sign-ins, reports, contact messages) count a truncated network (IPv4 /24, IPv6 /48) hashed with the day, and those counters are deleted after two days. Our host's (Cloudflare's) logs may also record requests.
- Moderation records: mutes, suspensions, banned nicknames and the audit log of moderation actions (kept two years).
- Contact and appeal messages and deletion requests, kept for a year after they are closed or processed.
- Agent connections are stored as hashes of their tokens, never the tokens themselves.
- Daily usage counts (requests, visitors), without personal data.
What your browser stores
The site keeps working data in your browser's storage (localStorage, IndexedDB and Cache Storage): your drafts, your nickname and avatar choice, small settings, caches of artworks and your imported models, and NFT display copies. It stays on your device; clearing site data deletes it, including unpublished drafts. Your wallet connection keeps its own data. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data, show advertising or build profiles of visitors.
Deletion and your rights
You can delete your gallery worlds and agent drafts yourself, disconnect agents and sign out. On the privacy page, signed in with your wallet, you can download your data as a JSON file and request deletion of your data. The host sees the request at the host desk and carries it out with one action: your sessions, agent connections and drafts, contact messages, audio spaces, live screens and chat history are deleted, and the reports you sent are kept without your wallet. You choose whether your published plot, gallery sign and galleries stay.
We keep what integrity or the law requires: payments in tez and your plot's tenure (the ledger of who holds which plot), moderation records about your wallet until their own retention ends, and the island's history of claims and invitations. We cannot delete what is on the Tezos chain. Exactly what is deleted and kept, and for how long, is listed on the privacy page.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date below shows the current version. Changes to prices and plot terms apply to terms paid after they are published; for other important changes we will give notice on the site. Using the site after a change means you accept it.
18. Contact
Questions, appeals and privacy requests go to teztopia@gmail.com or through the contact and appeal form; the host reads both and aims to answer within 7 days. Reports about something in the town go through its Report buttons.
19. Operator and governing law
Teztopia operates this site and the services described here. These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. Any dispute goes to the competent ordinary courts of the Argentine Republic, without prejudice to the rights consumer law gives you, including bringing a claim where you live.
