Questions and answers

Does signing in cost anything?

No. Signing in is a message your wallet signs; no tez moves. Publishing your plot is also a signature, not a payment.

Do I need an invitation?

Not to visit: any Tezos wallet can walk the town. To build on the mainland you need a rented plot, a gifted plot, or an invitation from the host. Rentals open when the host opens them: first to invited wallets, then to every Tezos wallet. Once they are open to everyone, any Tezos wallet can rent; the plot picker says which applies today. Gallery worlds are open: you pick a ready-made gallery template and hang your NFTs.

Can I build a world of my own outside the mainland?

No. Building happens only on mainland plots, with the plot editor in the town, plot templates and prefabs, the SDK or an AI agent. A free gallery world is a template you fill with your NFTs, not a place to build. The old free builder is retired; a world you made with it stays in your browser, and /builder.html lets you download it and import it into your plot.

Do I own my plot?

No. You rent it, 3 months at a time: a renewable tenure, the right to build and publish on it while your terms are paid. It is not ownership, not a token and not an investment. How land works.

What happens if I forget to renew?

You have a grace period of 60 days to renew. After that the plot returns to the town. Your published gallery leaves the map, but its files are kept and your drafts stay on your device. The town reminds you before: 30, 7 and 1 day before the term ends, when the grace starts, and three more times during the grace. Turn on Remind me on this device in My plots to get them on your phone or computer too.

Can I get a refund?

Payments are final. If a payment could not be applied (someone else paid for the same plot first, the amount was wrong, the price changed), the host returns it by hand.

Can I pass on my rental?

Only when your plot is built (a version you published and have not withdrawn), and only after 90 days: Pass on your rental at a price you choose. The new tenant pays in one operation, 95 % to you and 5 % to the treasury, and takes over the rest of your term. Passing on your rental.

Do my NFTs count against my plot's storage?

The NFTs themselves do not: they are token references. Their light display copies, made when you publish, are stored with your plot and count in its storage. Extra storage adds room for them.

Why was my model refused?

Usually one of: not a binary GLB with embedded textures; Draco or KTX2 compression; over 200,000 triangles or 20 MB; a rig, lights or morph targets. Check my model says which, and the optimising guide how to fix it.

My plot is over its weight. What do I do?

The meter lists the heaviest files. Compress textures (WebP, 2048 px), reuse one model instead of near-copies, remove what visitors will not miss, or add extra storage (25 MB for 5 ꜩ a term).

Can an AI agent build my plot?

Yes: Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and others, through the MCP server. It builds a draft; you publish it with your wallet. For AI agents.

Is the chat recorded?

The town's live chat is passed on to the people present and not stored by the site. Others in the room can still read and copy it.

Can I use my own avatar?

Not yet. Custom avatars are coming; the specification is already published.
